About me
Meet the face behind McFarlane Translations.
I am Arleene McFarlane, a freelance French to English translator.
Based in France (Centre-Val de Loire), I have been in business since 2008 and specialise in law, business and international development.
I hold a master’s degree in legal translation from City University in London. I am also a certified translator (traducteur assermenté) affiliated with the Bourges Court of Appeal in France and a chartered linguist with the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL).
I regularly attend continuing professional development courses taught in both French and English. This helps me stay up to date in my specialisms, particularly as regards legal translation work, as it is important to be aware of all changes in legislation and legal terminology. This is also a real advantage for my clients.
